CHARLOTTE – School is back in session at Discovery Place Science! Kicking off the new school year is the return of Educator Saturdays, a popular promotion that provides North & South Carolina educators the chance to experience Discovery Place museums with complimentary admission for all educators plus one guest.

Discovery Place Science, Discovery Place Nature and Discovery Place Kids are offering free admission and free Museum parking for educators during the promotion. At Discovery Place Science, educators will also have the opportunity to see a complimentary showing of the new IMAX film, DREAM BIG: Engineering Our World. Their guest may purchase an IMAX ticket at only $5.

Educator Saturdays provide the opportunity to explore an array of exhibitions, labs, live programming, and films that are offered daily, and consider how these experiences enhance student learning. From hands-on lab demonstrations on innovative technology to live animal interactions and imaginative role playing, Discovery Place museums help teachers meet demanding curriculum requirements by offering engaging, state-of-the-art educational experiences.

Educator Saturdays will be held during regular Museum hours on Saturday, September 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. There is no limit to how many times an educator can visit Discovery Place during Educator Saturdays. To redeem, educators must present their school ID or NCDNPE homeschool certificate to receive free admission and special offers. Reservations are not required but educators should visit Admissions upon arrival to register and receive information and parking validation.
