The Charlotte Chapter of the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE) recently honored Discovery Place Science with its “Venue of the Year” award for 2018.

The honor comes as the result of hosting the local chapter for its networking and meeting event last fall. As the host site for the event, Discovery Place Science offered the group several unique experiences, including an Animal Encounter with Herbie, the beloved tortoise. The Museum’s catering partner, Something Classic, provided food and beverage for the event.

“We work really hard to deliver top-of-the-line, memorable experiences for all of the groups and individuals who rent our Museum space,” said Gigi Ochs, manager of Special Events at Discovery Place. “Receiving this award from our friends at NACE reaffirms that we are a location of choice for special events in Charlotte. We couldn’t be more excited.”
