Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham to host Special Family Nights for Richmond County Elementary Schools

Families will receive half-priced admission on designated school night

RICHMOND COUNTY – Thanks to the support of the Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham Community Access endowment fund, Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham will host special after-hours Family Nights for all of Richmond County’s elementary schools in January, February and March 2016.

Each Richmond County elementary school will be offered one or two evenings for students and their families to visit Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham for half price admission. From 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. families will enjoy a special night filled with interactive science experiments and hands-on activities, along with full Museum access. Washington Street Elementary School kicked off the program on January 19 from their grades Pre-K – Grade 2.

“Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham Family Nights are a celebration of the families in the Richmond County community,” said Katie Rohleder, Director of Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham. “We want to encourage parents and children to investigate science together while connecting and engaging in a positive and educational environment.”

Families should arrive at the Museum on their designated evening and check in at the Admission desk. Reservations are not required in advance. Discounted admission is $4 per guest and free for Members and children younger than 1. Welcome admission will be honored. For guests’ safety, adults can visit only when accompanied by a child, so families should plan to arrive together.
