Big Wheels Are Turning in Huntersville With New ‘Touch A Truck’ Festival

Discovery Place KIDS - Huntersville

Touch A Truck Small

HUNTERSVILLE – Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville and Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) are teaming up to host their first Touch A Truck festival on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Hosted on CPCC’s Merancas Campus, this FREE community event will let families explore first responder vehicles, construction trucks, 18-wheelers and other trucks of all shapes and sizes. From mini-excavators to fire trucks, over 40 trucks and vehicles, including an array of cars like the electric Tesla, will be available for children and their families to touch and explore.

Discovery Place Kids educators will be on-site to investigate the science behind these terrific trucks with hands-on interactives like Makey Makey simple circuits challenges, Roller Ramps, Gears Galore and much more. Then keep the fun going with a bounce house, face painting, music and other family activities! A cookout will be provided by CPCC’s Skills USA Club for a voluntary donation (while supplies last).

Touch A Truck is part of CPCC’s Family Day on the Merancas Campus, home to the Public Safety and Transportation programs. Tours of the campus will be available throughout the event. CPCC’s Merancas Campus is located at 11920 Verhoeff Drive, Huntersville, NC. Admission is free and free parking will be available in any of the campus lots.
